Therapy for Gay and Queer Men

Gay and queer men face unique challenges in their lives. Many learn from an early age to feel inadequate or ashamed of who they are; others experience deep feelings of isolation and loneliness starting in their youngest years.  These feelings can lead to difficulties in romantic relationships, issues with self-esteem, addictive tendencies, or depression or anxiety.  As a therapist, I am committed to making the therapy room a space to talk about all aspects of the gay and queer experience.  I work with my clients to unravel the many ways their identity may have impacted their lives, including issues around dating, career development, spiritual concerns, HIV, substance use and abuse, sexual behavior, and a host of other concerns.

I believe strongly that gay men need therapists familiar with the social and cultural realities of gay life.  I have been providing psychotherapy to gay and queer men in New York City since 2009 and am committed to dedicating a substantial portion of my practice to the LGBT+ community.  As a queer person myself, I find that my own experience adds a dimension of depth to my frame of reference for the experience of my clients.  If you are a gay or queer man considering coming to therapy, I encourage you to contact me here to learn more about my approach and how we might work together to address your concerns.
