Welcome!  I am a licensed psychotherapist and psychoanalyst dedicated to helping people live happier, healthier, and more fulfilled lives.  I hope you’ll explore this site to learn more about me.

As a therapist, my job is to help folks feel better in all aspects of their lives: at home, at work or school, in relationships, and, most importantly, within themselves.  I work with clients to lessen their feelings of distress in the present and explore the deeper issues at the root of their troubles.

Patients tend to describe my style as active, warm, engaged, and focused.  I believe the best therapies are those where an artful balance of warmth, connectedness, and push is maintained as often as possible.  Over time, I will elicit your feedback about how our work is going, and we will make modifications together to make sure you are getting what you need.  Incorporating client feedback and collaboration are cornerstones of my therapeutic style.

I work with people of all ages facing a range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and difficulty in relationships.  I have a specialized interest in providing psychotherapy to gay men and adolescents, but have experience working with many populations and people of all ages.  I also offer clinical supervision to other therapists, teach graduate-level courses, publish articles and hold speaking engagements about the theory and practice of psychoanalysis, and lead study groups for clinicians and other interested folks.

I am committed to making therapy accessible.  I work with a growing team of associates who work with clients at a wide range of fee levels on a sliding scale.  Though none of us is an in-network provider with insurance panels, we have a variety of ways of working with you and your insurance provider to help cover some of the cost of treatment.
